Public and Private Sector Partnerships

This element recognises the importance of public and private sectors working cooperatively and collaboratively.  Voluntary sector and private sector groups are central to the effectiveness of preparedness and response, and it is critical that government, voluntary bodies, private sector groups and the media work together.  Plans for collaboration should ensure an inclusive approach, and include agreed protocols for liaison between all levels of government (including cross-sector) and relevant private sector stakeholders.

Materials contained within this element of the Toolkit include

  • examples of country arrangements for cooperation with the private sector stakeholders
  • information on Australia’s government/industry cost-sharing arrangements for emergency animal disease responses
